EMPLOYER OPTIONS:
COMMUNITY JOB TRAINING and follow along allows a Job Coach to assist the individual in learning job skills needed to be successful in a community placement. Follow along services include retraining, cross training, and general advocacy and support for the duration of employment.
ENCLAVES consist of work groups who are employed in community settings with supervision and training provided.
MOBILE WORK CREWS consist of work groups who perform yard clean up and leaf raking duties with supervision and training provided.
COMMUNITY BASED ASSESSMENTS provide an opportunity for the individual to try out different jobs in the community to determine which one is right for him or her.
VOLUNTEER individuals who are interested, find work in non-paid positions in community settings where their skills can be utilized to provide service to others.
JOB SEARCH SKILLS AND ASSISTANCE AND JOB DEVELOPMENT is available to assist workers in obtaining community employment. This includes training and assistance with resume development, interviewing strategies and job search techniques. A Job Developer is available to market and secure individualized competitive jobs in the community.
SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAM gives students an opportunity to learn new skills at several sites in the community, learn about employer's expectations, learn the skills to obtain a job and keep a job.
PROJECT SEARCH is a collaborated effort between Allen County Board of DD, Lima Senior, Lima Memorial Hospital, and Rehabilitation Services Commission (RSC) giving students an opportunity to learn various job skills through real work experiences.
TRANSITIONS TO WORK PROGRAM is a collaborated effort between Allen County Board of DD, Apollo, St. Rita's Medical Center, and Vocation Rehabilitation Public & Private Partnerships (VRP3) giving students an opportunity to learn various job skills through real work experiences.
