Employment First Council

The Allen County Employment First Council, formerly known as the Business Advisory Council (BAC), was formed in 2021 with the primary goal of expanding employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. Members of the group share updates and work to address employment related challenges through quarterly meetings and community events.

This group works to increase employment opportunities and inclusion that aligns with the initiatives set forth by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) and Employment First. Topics are shared to best support employers and individuals working.

The group consists of ACBDD staff, OOD Counselors, Employment Services/Vocational Habilitation providers, local employers, an individual served and parents of individuals who worked in the community that receive ACBDD services.

Employment Services Club

Employment Services Club was created to offer support and social interaction for individuals with jobs in the community. Days and times vary for activities. See the events calendar for upcoming events. Employment Services Club offers a chance for people to try something new, meet new people, and talk with others who also work. It is also an opportunity to enjoy what the community has to offer and have fun after a hard day's work.
