THIS IS JIMMY

If one thing can be said about Jimmy Horace, he loves working! That is why he has been employed with Sodexo at Bluffton University since September 2019. Jimmy has held several jobs in the past, but this is by far, his favorite. He obtained this job with the help of the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) and his job development vendor, Marimor Industries Employment Services. Jimmy works Monday - Friday from 9am-3pm and is responsible for dish washing in the lunch hall. He receives monthly follow-along services from Employment Services, where they check in with Jimmy and his employer to make sure all is well. Sodexo reports that Jimmy is friendly, happy, and a hard worker. He takes pride in all he does. Jimmy says he has enjoyed making friends at the university. He is 62 years old and has a goal to retire once he turns 69. He lives in a community home that he shares with other men. These men receive in-home support from Champaign Residential Services, Inc. (CRSI).

Jimmy’s journey with the Board began in 1991. Through the years he has received many different services; however, at this time he is assigned an Service & Support Associate who helps him manage his Individual Option (IO) waiver for Direct Support Professional (DSP) help at home, managing his medical needs, transportation, work follow-along and other such services. Jimmy is the leader of his team and he is happy to have them on his journey for his continued success.
