April is National Volunteer Month! We have so many wonderful volunteers at Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and we are so grateful for them! Today, we’d like to introduce you to a group of volunteers that you might not know: our LODDI board. What’s a LODDI board? Well, let me tell you!

Living Options for Developmentally Disabled Individuals, Inc. (LODDI) was founded in 1992 and became a non-profit organization in 1994. LODDI provides affordable and safe housing to individuals with developmental disabilities. Currently, LODDI owns and operates 13 properties in Allen County, which are primarily single family homes. Approximately 40 individuals we serve rent these properties.
LODDI Inc. has a five-member board, including one individual served by Allen County Board of DD who lives in a LODDI property. Our current board members are Dennis Rockhold, Sandy Hofacker, Lyle Endsley, Jason Flower, and Susan Stolzenburg. They all are active in the community, and all bring a unique perspective to the board. Board members are recommended by the LODDI board and officially appointed by Allen County Board of DD. The board meets every two months and reviews finances, approves expenditures and contracts for services, etc.
The board has been especially busy this past year, selling one home and purchasing a replacement home. Also, new property development is underway; the Allen County Land Bank donated land to us, and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities is funding the majority of this new home. We are so thankful for both of these partnerships!
The LODDI board members give their time and talents to ensure individuals we serve have safe, accessible, and affordable homes. The board members are dedicated and caring, and we thank them for the awesome work they do!
