On February 8, 2019, Lima First Assembly of God Church was blessed to host the fifth annual “Night to Shine” Prom sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. This unforgettable night highlights individuals with special needs and gives the guests an opportunity to attend a prom specifically focused on them. This year, more than 160 guests from all over Northwest Ohio were treated to dinner at the Allen County Board of DD and then a limo ride to the church for the dance. The Kings and Queens of the night were escorted by over 160 Ohio Northern University and Rhodes State College students. Additionally, more than 200 community members and high school students from Bath, Allen East and Lima Senior served in various capacities to help make this night an awesome experience for guests and their families.
The Tim Tebow Foundation exists to bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need. Night to Shine is an event where this vision truly comes to life. There is much to be learned in a classroom; however, some of life’s lessons are best appreciated when you are serving others as the hands and feet of Jesus. The volunteers for the night are truly as blessed at the attendees. Thanks to the many, many volunteers and donors that make this night possible.
